Pastor's Page

June 11, 2010

With this new website I am still not sure how I am going to do the pastor’s page. Sometimes thinking of something like a blog but then you feel like you need to update even when you may  not have anything to say or to have a running page (which is what I am doing for right now) but that can get pretty long. So, just keep coming back and and find out what I decide to do.

Praying for your church

Some time ago in a sermon at the end of a series on the Kingdom of God, I told the our congregation that what is really needed in the life of individual believers and in the corporate body of the church is a greater working of the Holy Spirit but I also mentioned that we very seldom ask for a greater working of the Holy Spirit in our lives and in the lives of others in our congregation and in our congregation at large. I encouraged them to memorize one of Paul’s prayer for one of the New Testament churches, I encouraged them to memorize this passage and pray it regularly for Trinity. I would encourage all believers to pray it for their church, their pastors, elders, deacons, friends for all the Christians that impact their lives. It is remarkable what impact praying for others will have on our attitude toward others. I have found it difficult (but not impossible because of my sinful heart) to speak in an improper way about a person I regularly pray for.

Well a few weeks ago one of my members asked me “Lee what was that passages you wanted us to memorize and pray for Trinity”, before I could answer another member did and began to quote the verse! I was excited because the one who forgot wanted to be reminded and excited that another member remembered and I believe had been praying the prayer. Well the prayer is from Ephesians 3:14-19 and here it is, it is hard to pray wrong when you use a prayers from God’s word

For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith–that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

Imagine what churches would look like if God’s people were praying this prayer daily and he was answering!

Pastor Lee

Welcome to Trinity’s new website. We hope you take time to look around (though much is still under construction) and find out a little more about Trinity.

A website helps both members and those interested in Trinity find out more of what we are doing and what our desire is in serving Christ in Middle Tennessee. I want to encourage all members to familiarize themselves with our mission statement and our core values. This helps you better understand our understanding of what we are hoping to do here and how we think we should go about doing it.

So look around, keep coming back because we will be adding information just about every day for the next couple of weeks as we really get the site up and running
